PHILOSOPHY
South County Volleyball Club is dedicated to advancing the personal and athletic development of each individual member. It is the philosophy of SCVC to teach the basic fundamental skills of the game and instill work ethic and competitive spirit in each girl. In doing so, we aim to create a positive team atmosphere in which each individual will thrive. It is our goal to prepare our athletes to compete at the club, high school, and collegiate levels. We will make every possible effort to assist each member in reaching their individual volleyball goals.

COMMITMENT
Although SCVC is a very small scale club; we are committed to making it a success and continuing as long as possible. We really want to stress that this takes much time, effort and commitment. We would appreciate that same amount of commitment from each individual athlete. We expect players to be respectful, hard working and do everything she can to reach her potential. As coaches, we will do all we can to facilitate these things. IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON PLAYING FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN. Quitting the team because you have other obligations is unfair to those girls that want to play and are committed for the entire season. In addition, you will still be responsible for any remaining balance on your account. We understand that young people are being pulled many different directions and are very sensitive to this fact. This is why we are letting you know what our expectations are before the season starts. We encourage all to play but expect that once you sign up, you are making a commitment for the duration of the season.

PLAYING TIME
Understand that practice and training is where you receive the most instruction and experience. Practices are the most important part of the club volleyball season. We recognize that each player will bring different strengths and abilities to their respective teams. We will use their talents as we see fit in order to achieve our teams’ goals. At this level it is very important for each player to develop at multiple positions and we will run our teams with this philosophy. We will do the best we can at making sure each player receives ample playing time during tournaments. If for some reason, you are concerned or upset about playing time, DO NOT approach the coach during the day of a tournament. Give yourself some time to think about the situation and then address it once you have removed yourself from it. A phone call or email the Monday following a
tournament would be a great time to address any concerns you may have. Please remember that we are doing the best we can and we do have your children’s best interest in mind.

PLAYER CONDUCT
Every athlete is expected to conduct herself appropriately at all times. You are representing SCVC. Show respect at all times to coaches, teammates, officials at tournaments, and parents. Be competitive, but not disrespectful toward other teams and/or clubs. Disrespect to anyone will not be tolerated!

CONCERNING FEES/DUES
Monthly installment fees are due the first of each month. Please be prompt with your payment. Remember, we are passing along our expenses only; we do not have the bank balance to pay expenses without income. Our expenses must be paid on time and we expect the courtesy of your payment on time. There will be a $15 fee for all bounced checks.

THERE IS NO CREDIT OR PRORATION FOR PLAYERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND TOURNAMENTS OR PRACTICES. IF FOR SOME REASON YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TO QUIT, YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED YOUR MONEY.
